Lloyd's hailing station, at the end of a jetty sticking well out into the river, was used to hail ships to determine their cargo and destination.
◄	In March 1960, the Norwegian Oil Tanker, Höegh Spear, got too close. I watched this happen as if in 'slow motion'. As far as I know the station was never used again.	►
